[Information] Reminder: LUMI software upgrade 19.8.2024 – 9.9.2024

As previously announced on the last 6th of June, we will be taking the system offline for maintenance starting on Monday, 19 August, 2024. LUMI won’t be accessible as this will affect all the login and compute nodes as well as the parallel filesystems, and the LUMI web interface.

Significant parts of the system software will be updated, and more particularly the system software stack, in order to get a more stable and up-to-date system after the break. We expect the system to be back in production on Monday, 9 September, 2024. We will keep you updated about the progress of the maintenance break.

A maintenance reservation to ensure that no jobs are running when the service break starts will be set up. Shorter jobs may be run before the break if they can finish before the start of the maintenance.

Please note that the LUMI-O object store remains accessible – without using the LUMI web interface – https://auth.lumidata.eu/ (more information about LUMI-O usage https://docs.lumi-supercomputer.eu/storage/lumio/). Make sure to copy any important data you may need from LUMI before the maintenance window as the filesystems will be completely inaccessible.
